CO-OPTED MEMBER OF UNIVERSITY COUNCIL

Martin BousfieldA former partner in KPMG Chartered Accountants, Martin Bousfield, has accepted an appointment as a co-opted member of the University Council.

Martin was partner in KPMG from 1979 to 2000, during the latter part of which time he was responsible for the audit of the University's accounts.

He has a strong commitment to educational issues and was an examiner for the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales for a number of years. From 1990 to 1995 he was the Chairman of the Examination Committee and until March 2000 he was a member of the Educational and Training Directorate of the Institute. He has spent much of his career working in the Bradford KPMG office and now lives in Halifax.

His interests include music, principally opera, and crown green bowling. His current term of office on the University Council runs until July 31, 2003.
