Good
practice guide published
Professor
Murna Downs (pictured left) and Margaret Anne Tibbs, of the University's
Bradford Dementia Group, have recently written a book specifically for
social care professionals working with people with dementia.
The book, titled 'Social Work and Dementia: Good Practice and Care Management',
gives guidance on person-centred good practice throughout the care process
from the initial diagnosis, through day care, respite care, long-term
care, and death and attachment.
Professor Downs said: "The guide will enable social workers to manage
their cases effectively and empathetically, making appropriate, culturally
sensitive decisions."
The book is available from Jessica Kingsley
Publishers priced £13.95.
