Welcome Research features significantly this month with an article on page 3 on the official opening of successful University spin-off company Advanced Gel Technology Ltd (AGT). Other research news includes a visit to the University by the scientist Professor Craig Jordan, who gave a keynote lecture on his work developing the pioneering anti-cancer drug Tamoxifen. We also feature University spin-off company, Bradford Particle Design (bpd), which has begun a multi-million pound expansion drive. In teaching and learning, we include news on page 13 on Adult Learners' Week, which will run from May 11 until May 18, while lecturer Rob Janaway is in the running for a £50,000 award after being nominated for a National Teaching Fellowship. And in business news, we cover the University's Centre of Objective Measurement and Innovative Technologies (COMIT), who recently organised a seminar to attract interest from South Asian textile companies. Meanwhile, Vice-Chancellor, Professor Chris Taylor, welcomed the Teaching Company Directorate, Ed Robson, to the University to talk about TCS (previously known as the Teaching Company Scheme). News & Views is always on the lookout for more research and other stories from departments. Contact Rachael Ellis on press@bradford.ac.uk or call (23)3084.
