Success in Research training

Dr Wendy Olsen.Bradford has created eight new four-year PhD programmes using expertise from a team of social scientists ranging from Health through Peace and Social Sciences through Management.

Each programme is an alternative to the standard three-year PhD and will focus on Research Methodology in the first year with years two to four concentrating on a substantive project area.

The programme, which began under the leadership of Professor Richard Butler of the School of Management, is currently led by Dr Wendy Olsen.

The new schemes, which have gained full ESRC recognition, lead to the degree of Master in Research with a focus in one of the following: Applied Health Studies; Conflict Resolution; Development Studies; Management; International History; International Relations; Political Science; and Social Policy.
