Top Research team celebrate publication success

Miss Pauline Chan.Electronics & Telecommunications PhD student Pauline Chan (pictured left), together with Dr Ray Sheriff and Dr Fun Hu of Cybernetics, achieved a notable success with consecutive publications in the December 2001 and January 2002 issues of IEEE Communications.

IEEE Communications, rated the highest ranked by the ISI Journal Citation 2000 Report for Impact Factor in Telecommunications, is distributed globally to all 60,000 members of the IEEE Communication Society.

The first of the two papers formed part of a highly competitive focus issue on 'Evolving to Seamless All IP Wireless/Mobile Networks'. The paper presented a new concept for managing multimedia services over satellite and cellular networks.

The second paper described the activities of SUITED, an EC-funded project, which is investigating mobility and the Internet. Ray said: "Mobile Internet access is a key research topic that is now being addressed by industry and academia throughout the world.

Such high profile, relevant publications clearly demonstrate that Bradford is able to significantly contribute to this evolving technology."
