RAMAIR GOES LIVE TO CELEBRATE 21ST BIRTHDAY

The gang at RamAir.Student radio station RamAir will celebrate its 21st birthday by broadcasting on FM this month.

The station will go on air 24 hours a day for two weeks from Monday, December 3 until Saturday, December 15 on 102FM.

Station Manager, David Curran, said: "We are proud of the fact that we are one of the oldest student radio stations in the country and believe that student radio is very important for a number of reasons, including the introduction of new bands."

The station already broadcasts all year-round across the University campus on 1350AM, with a team of 25 dedicated student DJs, backed up by 10 executive members.

The station was the first student radio station in the country to secure a Restricted Service Licence for FM broadcast in 1990, the first to broadcast full-time on a cable network, and the first to broadcast globally over the Internet.
