'Green Impact' is a National environmental accreditation scheme. Green Impact moves green programmes to their next level by developing a creative strategy that directly engages staff and positions sustainability as a key driver of innovation and institutional competitive advantage.
The scheme offer's staff teams the opportunity to work towards a series of awards with the aim of promoting and celebrating environmental good practice.

The University of Bradford is one of 22 University's nationwide taking part.
The scheme involves individuals or teams taking responsibility for their immediate environment in terms of its sustainable behaviour pattens. An area can be defined as your office, a group of offices, your department, a particular corridor of offices.
There are currently 17 areas within the University who have signed up to take part in the scheme.
This is your chance to get involved in making changes at ground level that will have direct and positive impact on the University's sustainable record. participating will assist in the reduction of our carbon footprint and will help to make our office environments cleaner, greener and comfortable.
We are looking for volunteer auditors to visit the departments and conduct audits. Each volunteer auditor will be fully trained on the criteria and what they need to audit through a half-day of training on Tuesday 27th April from 9am-1pm. Lunch will be provided.
In pairs auditors will then complete one or more audit during May 2010. You will be able to choose the dates and number of audits you complete, although we do ask that all auditors commit to carrying out at least one audit. An audit should take between one and two hours to complete depending on the size of the department.
What skills do I need?
No technical knowledge is needed! Full training will be provided. All you need is an interest in environmental issues.
