Carbon Management
The University has made a commitment to carbon reduction. The following actions have been taken:
- Development of a carbon footprint of our operations
- Implementation of a carbon
management system
- Development of a five year carbon saving plan
- Recruitment of a Energy Manager
- Development of an Energy Investment Programme for energy saving projects,
e.g. a campus wide building management system with automatic monitoring
and targeting of energy savings
Work has also included campus wide feasibility studies of wind-power, biomass
boilers and combined heat and power generation and the University is now
actively seeking the installation of these technologies.
