Private Accommodation
Unipol Student Homes
Compared to most university towns and cities in the UK, privately rented accommodation in Bradford is inexpensive, and there are plenty of houses for friends to rent together close to the campus. The average rent for a room is £43 per week with additional utility charges (prices correct as of January 2009).
The University works closely with Unipol to provide students with a private accommodation service that is transparent and easy to use. Unipol is a unique organisation - a charity, stablished in 1975, to help students find the best housing they can, to drive up standards and be a beacon of good practice for other housing suppliers.
If you would prefer to live in privately rented accommodation, then you should visit or contact the Unipol Accommodation Bureau in The Hub as your first point of call, or contact them via their website: www.unipol.org.uk/bradford. The service is free and there is an excellent choice of accommodation from shared houses and flats, bedsits and studios to rooms in larger developments, all displayed on an easy-to-use website.
The agency has helped more than 18,000 students a year find accommodation in Leeds and Bradford and has played an important role in increasing standards with its own code of practice called the Unipol Code. Properties that meet this code are clearly marked to make it easier for you to choose an accredited property.
Unipol can also help students with house hunting-related problems through their drop-in solicitor service.
