Codes of Practice

This page provides links to the codes of practice developed by the University of Bradford, and the national code pf practice.   Where a national section exists, the latter shows how the precepts are ffulfilled at the University of Bradford.  The dates indicated refer the latest version issued by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education.

Each section of the QAAHE national code pf practice is 'structured into a series of precepts andd accompanying outline guidance.  The precepts identify those key matters which the QAA expects an institution to be able to demonstrate it is addressing effectively through its own quality assurance mechanisms.  The accompanying outline guidance is provided to assist institutions in maintaining and enhancing the quality of provision for students and other stakeholders.  The guidance is nt intended to be either prescriptive or exhaustive: its purpose is to offer a framework for quality assurance and control which institutions may wish to use directly and adapt according to their own needs, traditions, cultures and decision-making processes.  Nonetheless, in many institutions the guidance will constitute appropriate good practice'.  One year after a section of the code of practice has been published, the QAAHE will expect that the Higher Education institutions meet the standards set out in that code.
