Research & Activities
Research is central to the work of the School of Social and International Studies. Our research is organised around five centres:
- The Department of Peace Studies
- The Department of Social Sciences and Humanities
- The Centre for African Studies
- Centre for European Studies

- The History Subject Group
- Development and Economic Studies (formerly Bradford Centre for International Development)
The research centres in the School provide a wide range of research services for international organisations, national governments, local authorities and non-governmental organisations.
Our academics are also involved in activities such as the Programme for a Peaceful City.

The School provides a home for a large and thriving community of over 90 postgraduate research students.
