Marie Macey, Alan Carling and Sheila Furness have been awarded a grant by
the Equality and Human Rights Commission [EHRC] to carry out a review of the
research into religion or belief in England, Scotland and Wales from an equalities
perspective. The review will cover the six major world faiths—Buddhism,
Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism and Sikhism—and non-religious
belief systems such as Humanism. It will cover such areas as the criminal
justice system, education, employment, health, housing, media representation,
political participation and social welfare.
The Ethnicity and Social Policy Research
Centre has a history spanning more than four decades of sustained activity
within social sciences at the University of Bradford and has attracted significant
research funding throughout this period from a range of major funding bodies.
