Economics Sixth Form Conference

The Department hosted a one-day Economics Sixth Form Conference at the University of Bradford on Wednesday 21st October 2009.

This conference was open to both economics and business studies students. Through educational games students gain an understanding of key economic concepts, as well as a broader understanding of what it is like to study at university.

Bradford Development Lecture

The 16th Development Lecture was presented by Professor Frances Stewart, the Director of the Centre for Research on Inequality, Human Security and Ethnicity (CRISE) from the Department of International Development, University of Oxford.

Regeneration and Wellbeing

A major conference on the theme of Regeneration and Wellbeing was held in April 2008 at the University of Bradford, preceeded by a series of seminars held during 2007 in preparation for the event.

The aim of the conference was to explore specific themes of community participation and cohesion, the role of the social economy and social enterprise, leadership and management in cross-sectoral partnerships, sustainable development initiatives, and the economic impact of regeneration spending.

This project was supported by the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Development Agency, Yorkshire Forward.
