Professional Development Training

In addition to our degree programmes, the Department offers commissioned training services in response to requests from clients and to their exact specification. We have found that it is most effective to offer training tailored directly to the requirements of specific organisations and work closely with clients to achieve maximum benefits from such training.

Courses in any of our main subject areas can be delivered in the UK or overseas for groups ranging from 10 to 30 participants. An increasing number of our professional development training course modules can now be fully accredited by the University of Bradford and can lead to a University Certificate, Diploma or full Master's degree if sufficient modules are successfully completed to the required standard.

The Department offers substantial experience in training needs assessment, course design, training materials development, choice of training methods, arrangements for study visits and tours or visiting speakers, along with highly developed expertise in course administration and course evaluation.

Another aspect of the work of the Department in this area is the development, management and evaluation of training capacity within partner organisations.

We have an extensive portfolio of current and previous projects including aid agencies, overseas governments and corporations, and non-government organisations (NGOs) both in the UK and overseas. Current major projects include a range of courses under the Chevening Programme funded by the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office, capacity development programmes for the China Development Bank and the Caribbean Development Bank, and the UK-based component of the Managing At The Top (MATT2) in Bangladesh

Costings

The fees charged for our Professional Development courses depend on a number of factors. The duration of the programme, expected number of participants, nature of the training methods and location of the programme will all affect the fee that is charged.

The Professional Development Services office is staffed by a dedicated team who provide comprehensive support to the programme including logistics and administration, financial management, tendering and reporting to clients.

Courses can be held in the Department within the University of Bradford in the UK or in other locations either in the UK or overseas.
